Stella Maeve has been a popular American actress for many decades. Her most notable part was in the role of Julia Wicker from the hit television show The Magicians. Maeve hails from New York, and is Native American. Maeve is a Blackfoot and part Cherokee. She was featured in Liminality which was a short film from 2005. Transamerica was a critically-acclaimed film comedy-drama from that same year, marked her debut on big screen. In 2004, she had her first TV appearance, in the four-season Law & Order Criminal Intent episode. Nadia Decotis was her role in Dick Wolf's Chicago franchise Chicago P.D. . The character was played by her until 2015 which was the year she returned to her role in Law & Order Special Victims Unit which is a TV show on Wolf s. The following year she was cast as Julia Wicker as the female character in Syfy's fantasy drama The Magicians. Stella Maeve began to establish her name in the television industry however she continued her film career as an independent filmmaker. Starlet (2012) was the drama she appeared in, and was awarded an award at the Film Independent Spirit Awards 2013 and The Robert Altman Awards.
